How to find great website, Blog and social media content easily every day
But the best social media and blog content comes from the employees and stakeholders themselves. Its more authentic and relates to the audience better.
The biggest hurdle for most people is knowing what to write about. It can be had to come up with new content and ideas - especially on a daily basis.
So here we have laid out a simple system to help you add relevant and useful content daily and engage with your audience.
Step 1: Finding great content
Without doubt the best way to scan the web for relevant content is Google Alerts. You will need a Google account so if you don't have one set one up. Its worth doing not just for this but for the analytics and other great free services they offer business.
Once you have set up your Google account click the Apps icon and look for more apps. There you will find a golden bell icon that is Google Alert.
You can click on the image opposit to see more details of the settings.
You can choose to get results from new, blogs, video, books and so on. I normally choose blogs and news.
I normally have 4 or 5 alerts set to bring me relevant content. I scan through, mostly looking to blogs, for interesting articles. I click through to them, have a quick read and if I think that my audience will either enjoy reading them or get something out of it I will post them to my social media channels or websites.
Social media posting automation
Opposite you can see a screen shot of my Hootsuite page. This is a great system that lets you post content to multiple social media channels and websites all at the same time. This basic version is free and will suffice for most people and companies. (see https://hootsuite.com)
3 Simple steps to social media success...
1. Find great content to share with and help others (your audience)
2. comment on that content and get involved
3. LISTEN (very important step) - watch people's reactions and comment
Social media is a conversation; be part of it and contribute to it
Start conversations, join in with them, be of help and value. you may start a conversation but you can't control it or where i t ends up. That is fine. Companies who try and control what people say about them are not engaging with their audience. They are in broadcast mode.
Let people have free reign and ownership. they will be more enthusiastic and appreciate it. it may lead to new places and it will certainly lead to new connections and future business.
